Every time you step outside your comfort zone and try new things, you will grow exponentially even though you might not realize it. But change can be scary and it might fill you with so much fear of failure and self doubt that you might never even attempt the jump into something even better. I might look like I know what I am doing but most of the time I just listen to my gut and go with what feels right. If I want to try something new I’ll just go for it and don’t judge while learning, while creating. The assessment might come after and I can say if it either worked or not. But maybe the assessment isn’t even our job. I love Andy Warhol for saying: “Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.” That’s what I am trying to live by and what gave me the courage to start in on this project of 100 paintings in 100 days.
