The urge to be everything is so strong. Every day I paint and every day I expect a masterpiece to immerge. But that's not how we are as humans. We are not machines that can churn out results with equal quality each and every day. There will be paintings I am displeased with even though I liked them at the moment I created them and then there will be paintings where I am wondering how I could ever recreate such magnificence. Today's painting symbolizes this struggle. I stopped thinking about whether I liked what it looked like or not and instead allowed my hands to move freely over the paper. To let go of preconceived notions and to explore. That was my goal with each and every single piece in this challenge but again. Some days are easier than others. Sometimes I'm stuck in a rut and feel repetitive and other days I can barely think straight and just try to get it done. I still hope that looking back at the 100 pieces will give me some sense of satisfaction. But we are not done yet. Today is day 75 and I have one more quarter left to this challenge. Let's see if I can set the goal of perfection aside once more.
